Recently, one of our bloggers of Unity Bond asked us this question. Here would be my opinions and response.

"if you fall from a very tall place, would you get up and move on or climb up and try again"

I believe that this question totally applies to our life.

Falling from the top are painful and it hurts of course. Some people fall so hard that they couldn't be able to climb back up while some couldn't resist the reality of falling. First of all, to know the reason of falling. You have to know what causes the fall so you could learn by the mistakes and think of solutions to overcome it. If you are able to do this, you are ready to climb back up, because you know and because you are prepared.

Only when you have found the reason, and you don't think you can overcome it, is where people tend to move on. Mistakes are harsh. Failures are disappointing. Falling is painful. Not everyone in the world could face such mistakes and failures in life. Most importantly, you have to understand the reason behind every causes and consequences which would only allow you to decide if you want to climb back up.

If you want to climb back up, knowingly what causes you to fall and know what's up ahead of you. Moving on is an alternative to avoid the battle or to climb as you know you will not win or you couldn't climb.

Hopefully, you could make the right choice in your life. As the choice you choose determines the journey of your life.

The Stage Play

Like it or not... Life is about stage playing which means all the dramas and acts that are not you.

Easily said, you are not being who you suppose to be when being put up in a different stage altogether. I wonder if life is like that... To be pushed when you don't like it to be, to say yes when you heartily objects to it, to look the best when you knew that you are not and to admit that everything is fine when things are not.

Perhaps it is the way that we learn. To learn to accept things that was set, to follow what others are doing, to be blamed when things doesn't go accordingly and to pick up the mess of people which doesn't belong to you. Mistakes are a part of learning. But hey, learning to pick up shits by other person mistake are worse. Sometimes just being who you are would be the best at times. It is better to say NO when being pushed and do the things you want it to be rather doing it for the sake of as the way it is.

Nobody can be somebody else but yourself. Live your life!

The Standardization Of Life

Doesn't this statement just sound so wrong? Oh yes. It sounded doubly wrong because the world will never be standardized. The world is so diversified with so many culture, opinions, thoughts... Until the existence of standard are so hard to be unified. A common understanding are so hard to be understood by all parties which create conflicts and miscommunication sometimes. "It takes a day to understand one's culture" which is so true.

But let say, we as human being. Share the same principle. Same mindset. Same mission. Would the world be unified? Living towards a world of less selfishness and having the same living standards. This would be what the world today is trying to create or to envision. Towards the unification, the fulfillment to reduce the gap, for equality, for the common to be shared.

We are moving towards the standardization of life. So that we could eat what the other side is eating and watch what the others are watching. Can I just equal this statement to globalization? Although it may sound the same but it does not bring the same meaning.

How To Multitask Your Tasks, Efficiently

About time to multitask?

I have learned my lesson, never delay any of your work! Its sucks to rush out our adrenaline to get the job done. Or worse, when something gets in the way. You probably thought that "I should have did this earlier, I should have done that"... etc. That sort of regretment matures us over time, but it is still depends on people though.

Let me highlight 3 key points which can lead us to a better multitasker. One: Responsibility. Two: Commitment. Three: Honesty. Note that I have been practicing these 3 key points and reflect it to my life, so far it feels great to be a better multitasker.

One: Responsibility. We should learn to be a responsible person. Well, its easy to say than actually to do, but take it easy. Time will tell, and you probably don't even notice that you're actually a responsible person when finishing up your tasks. Like when your boss assigned you a task to finish off by tomorrow. At first, you would complain (relax, it's normal). Then, once you start doing your task, you will automagically have the guts to finish it by tomorrow! Sure, rushes often produced a not-so-good results, but our next key points can transform it into not-so-bad! Read on.

Two: Commitment. When you do your tasks, any tasks, always spice it with commitment (even though you hate doing it). Commitment has always been the proven secret recipe that's best with our first key point, Responsibility. When you mix responsibility and commitment, it encourages your adrenaline hormone to do it right, in this case, your tasks. As a result, you'll end up with good results that matches no other!

Three: Honesty. Always remember, commitment don't just pop out to your mind without actually being honest to get it done. You will need your encouragement. Encourage yourself to be honest when you're doing your job. Once you start being honest to yourself, you would have the commitment and responsibility to finish off your task, efficiently.

There you go, three key points that you should master. Once you done that, you can multitask your tasks more efficiently, without actually draining your time unnecessarily. Try it, it feels good to get the job done faster, until there's one time I felt like I got nothing to do since all of stuff I need to do has already been made. Good luck!

The Perfect World : Zeitgeist

What if we lives in a peaceful world?

It has been awhile since I watched this movie. "Zeitgeist : Addendum" and share this out...

It is about how can WE together living in different parts of the world to make a perfect world. To break boundaries. Towards fulfilling what we all envision and hope for life.

It sound so impossible but yet I do believe in making it happening. It is hard for me to explain it all. But this movie was recommended by a Brazillian friend I met in Guangzhou, China. The "Halo" Effect

Are you one of these people?

The halo effect is a cognitive bias where the perception of one trait like a characteristic of a person or object is influenced by the perception of another trait of that person or object. An example would be judging a good-looking person as more intelligent.

That's the definition from Wikipedia. I do have my own perception when it comes to judging a person or object. Right now I don't want to write about my certain perception towards a person, so let me touch specifically on objects instead.

When we go to the shopping mall looking for electronics, for example, you might have probably look for the best, right? You surveyed the same category of products under a different brand, noting its specs and pricing. After all the fuss, you bought a fan from Panasonic instead, even though there were other brands that offers much more features under better price. Why?

The answer is brand loyalty. You are practicing a bias behaviour. You would expect that product you bought works great as the ones you already have, obviously under same branding. You don't care about the competing products out there because you knew the brands you used for years will have its future in your home. That's a halo effect.

For me, after I got my first iPod shuffle, I replace it with an iPod nano, followed by the iPod touch and now the iPad. Notice my brand loyalty towards Apple? You probably been affected by the halo effect as well, like once you bought a Hawaian Chicken-pizza from Pizza Hut, you don't even bother the others. This halo effect applies to a person as well, for example, you would think most kids are usually annoying, or most Malays are talkative (these two were negative perceptions, so please excuse that).

Note that the halo effect can lead to both positive and negative perceptions towards a person or object. Do keep this in mind.

When "Dumb" Technologies Matter

These days, technology has moved to an even greater heights. You would have never thought your cellphone is more than just a phone. Or a TV that are often labelled 'extraordinary'. Looking back to the past makes us wonder if we'd never move beyond this, I would've probably write this entire article directly on my iPod touch (you heard right, I was trying to avoid my computer as part of my aims this year).

Back to the topic, if the technology has gotten smarter and smarter, are we the humans getting better and better? The answer is yes and no. I would say yes since technologies helps us determine and decide our decisions based on facts and answers generated by these stuff. It's also a 'no' for me due to several reasons. I'll elaborate more on this based on the real situation going on right now.

Let's start of with cellphones. Phones, as you pronounced it, are meant for calls and text messages. It should work and it just works the way you want. And with the help of the iPhone revealed since 2007, the smartphone revolution have begun. And suddenly everyone was trying to build a touchscreen smartphone. One wonders why. Before the iPhone, Microsoft had developed a similar smartphones with a touchscreen based on a stylus technology (which uses a pen as an input, and has a tip of a cursor similar to a computer). It failed miserably. My cousin happened to have one when he showed off to me how cool it is to use a touchscreen phone with a pen. I tried it, and it's awkward in every way possible. Why can't I just use fingers to touch and launch those programs? Is it due to our sausage-sized fingers, or Microsoft thinks using a pen makes us look cooler? Years later after I bought an iPod touch (which doesn't use a pen), he just mums. Onto your face!!! Who needs a pen to touch it, it's ridiculous!!

Okay, so what is this has got to do with the title? Remember I said above when suddenly everyone was making a smartphone? It turns out to be a vapor. Some has a slideout keyboards, some uses tiny icons and text that forces us to zoom in to see, some has the UI interface similar to Windows 98,... and the list goes on.

This is what a new problem came through. When a phone has gotten so smart that it even knew our exact location or able to check our pulse or blood pressure, everything starts to get complicated. You have to set up this and that, you have to read manuals to configure (do people still do this these days?). You probably wondering why can't the phone just works right out of the box, since it was so smart? Then, you probably regret making the purchase and decided to buy a dumbphone instead. It's simple, and it just works.

Phones are not the only technology that has gotten "smarter". Even our household appliances has gone to the same route as well. Take microwave ovens for example. How long does it took for you to configure the settings, the time, the heat, the whatever-setup-I-need-to-configure just to cook a cake or reheat a chicken? We're talking minutes! Traditional ovens? Its only seconds! You only have a temperature knob and the time knob. That's it! Simple right? You get to enjoy your meals fast without sacrificing your time and productivity.

Other than that is a washing machine or a dishwasher. Something that were once so simple to configure have gone complicated thanks to the geniuses of smart people. They should be smart enough to make technologies simple and efficient as possible.

Moving to a television world, the latest and the greatest TV has HD, lots of inputs and ports, and lots of buttons on the remote, while lots of time wasted just to make all things work. Google TV for example, it is so smart that it combines TV with the web. Means your TV have gotten interactive, which sounds great but in the end, it's a total flop. Nobody wants to search for "Justin Bieber" on a ridiculously ugly and small remote! It's stupid!

My wish is, don't make things complicated. It's not like I'm siding with my grandma for a simplicity but it is a benefit for everyone. Ask any person in this world, they hate complications. That's it! Simple as that. Now jot this down on your rulebook.

I wish everything was "dumb" again. Oh well...

The Lost Symbol Of Necklace

More often than not, we always and usually see people wear necklace. Has been norm for girls to fashion up themselves, but today even guys are wearing them, be it Asians or Westerns. Let it be for fashion purpose or I think today is more like a trend.

Necklaces worn by people during old times for a purpose, especially during an occasion. Currently having the new release of sports necklace which is said to be able to strengthen one self during the game are becoming a popularity in the market although not scientifically proven of its worth. Today, as we can see, people don't wear it as a purpose of wearing them instead of wearing it for fashion or style. Types and kinds of necklaces are in the market today. Be it the skull, peace, love or anything at all.

But wouldn't be ironic when someone doesn't even know the meaning of what he or she is wearing? You could just experiment with your friends by asking them the meaning of the symbol on the necklace they're wearing. 90% of them would say that they wear it because the peers are wearing them. Losing their symbolic meaning.

It's exactly like watching China people in China wearing English wording on the T-Shirt without any idea what they mean. Even the same placing on Western people wearing Chinese or Japan wording not having a single idea what it exactly mean at all. *snort*

Is Social Network Our Answer?

What do you think?

Recently The Social Network was played in the Malaysian cinemas and it wowed the audience and even bagged quite a number of awards in its pocket. While this movie is about the most famous social network on the web right now, the movie doesn't really show us about Facebook but more of human nature which can be seen by Jesse Eisenberg while he's playing Mark.

Day by day, more people sign up for Facebook and it's uncool or embarrassing if you don't have an account. They would say that you are unsociable and that everyone should have Facebook. This brings us back to the question, does social networks really improves our social life?

These days technology has taken over the world and humans can't live without it anymore. We communicate lesser and yet spend more time on SMS, Facebook, gaming consoles and such. This can really be seen by university students whom kept themselves in their rooms after class to go on Facebook or to earn those achievements on their XBox.

A common scene during Friday nights

It doesn't have to be that way just because these technologies existed. All it takes is a bit of effort to make new friends or go for events or even learning something new. Even though it may just be a few hours every week but at least that face-to-face connection is there and there's no side effects in doing something much more sociable than Facebook. Who knows, maybe you'll meet your match this way.

About a Plug and a Socket

A plug and a socket. Born to be together.

Can you describe a socket and a plug? Is there any relation between them? Obviously yes. Socket has three holes (2 holes depending on the country). It has the power and waits for any plug to jump in and collect its powers. Without a socket, a plug won't get the power. Then if a plug don't have the power, thus our electrical appliances won't work. A plug will always require a power from a socket to function.

You may asked what is the rationale of this story. Well, I was trying to relate it with a teacher and us, the regular people. To put it simply, we ourselves are the plug while a teacher is described as the socket. We always need a socket to function, just like you and me require a teacher to get the necessary knowledge to survive.

But if we are the spoiled plug, don't look for a socket to plug in to. A socket won't be able to help a spoiled plug. Don't ever blame the socket for the problem, instead, look at yourself and asked why it happens. Get it? In other words, if we are lazy to lookout for our own problems, we can never get the solution, thus unable to fix ourselves (the spoiled plug). So if you are the good, working plug, everything just works when you connect to a socket.

One more thing, do not attempt to look out for a spoiled socket. A malfunctioned socket could damage the plug as well. Even the source can make it even worse. Who knows if we gets electrocuted! Always find the good ones instead.

There you go, the relation between a socket and a plug, thus us the regular people and teachers. What I mean teachers not necessarily reflect the word, it could be your parents, your best friends, your loved ones... etc.

Think about it.

The "YES" Attitude

YES! The very word that brings opportunity across. In many cases, many people giving rejection, providing excuses, denying the facts and missed opportunities because they say NO. Subjectively, the word YES may only be used in particular scenario and cases BUT in most of our daily activities, the word "YES" is lacking in our society today.

The YES attitude reminds me of the movie "Yes Man' starring Jim Carrey which tells of a story of a man who couldn't resist to say NO. That movie directly reflects on our society. By saying YES, he could have done so much. He could have met so many people. And grab so many opportunities lying ahead. It's a matter of attitude. As human being, we are trained to say NO at certain circumstances but not NO to every circumstances. The word "YES" is so powerful to make one do so much and explore more.

Let's challenge ourselves by saying "YES" for one whole particular day. And see what happens.

I am pretty sure the outcome would be very very interesting. :)

App Review: Opera Mini on the iPhone

Opera did perform some countdown when will Apple approve its Opera Mini app on the App Store. Lots of speculation stated that Apple would never approve it because it replicates Safari web browser, given with the strict restrictions that other third-party browsers must use Safari's rendering engine (called WebKit).

Unfortunately, Opera Mini have been approved on the App Store and tops a no. 1 free app on many countries since its launched. Here's the proof! Why? Opera Mini followed Apple's guidelines very carefully but they didn't use Safari's WebKit engine, instead, they use their own server to compress the web pages and sends it back to iPhone. The results? Web pages loads lightning quick!

I did tried the app on my iPod touch once its approved an hour later, and I'm pretty much impressed on how it performs (not sure for iPhone users though, but you can try with cellular turned off).

The interface is clean, bottom-tabs, Speed Dials, and tap to zoom with tremendous fluidity. Sites load instantly. I have tried to open Twitter, Unity Bond Mobile, Gizmodo and several other sites. Not forgetting our regular Unity Bond blog itself (which it looks insanely ugly but at least readable when zoomed-in)

And yes, since this is my first time to review an app for the App Store, I have skimmed through all the good features of Opera Mini app alongside its bad underneath it:

Fast, free, save caches
Can set image quality
Full screen browsing
Beautiful pages in tabs
Home page with 9 favourite sites
Find words in the site

Fonts are too small? Tap to zoom!

Remembers where you left off

Since Opera Mini is still in beta, it does have its cons:

When Wi-Fi is slow, it takes forever to load, and Safari is quicker
Safari displays everything nicely, Opera forced me to zoom
It crashed many times, pages doesn't reload or won't open
Non-responsive tabs, unadjustable zoom kinda annoying
Can't store more than 5 pages sometimes, or in low memory
Pinch-to-zoom not supported, Safari does

Focus On The Solution, Not The Problem

There is always this says and always of this occurence in a company or an organization. When a problem arises, individual usually seek for the root cause of that problem, which is good at certain point to know what causes it and learn by mistakes of not repeating it. But over focus on why that problem arises and starting to blame self or others due to the problem is ineffective and time consuming. Instead, bring yourself to think about how to solve the problem! Think about the probable solution to tackle and overcome the problem. Make a list of what can be done and choose the best out of it. I know that this statement may sound very much from a textbook, but in reality, most of us oversees this.

Many people in an organization or a company could not and unable to use their thinking skills to solve a problem. The main reason because of this is that they never even think and practice of focusing on the solution when a bad situation arises. It in imperative for an individual to have the sense of vision on the worst case. Like to foresee the worst to come and if it does, what are you going to do about it. Most of us, instead, are afraid and not able even to accept the worst thing that may fall upon us. And if it does, we never know what to do. So do you think you are able to accept the unacceptable and prepare and know what to do if the worst is ever to happen? (don't even think of if it's the end of the world)

Living Comfortably, Don't We?

Are we living in the comfort zone? Be it a developed country or developing countries, I am very and proudly to say "Yes". We are living in the comfortable zone and yet sometimes we don't appreciate them. A very good book that I read from, explains evertything. Especially in business field, these business people, they mostly don't care whatever things that they're doing (but some) that what they focus mainly on profits. Here is one good example :
There is this very modern and people-like-to go shop, (which the name not be mention) that usually get good and frequent customers. It is a somehow like a coffee shop. This shop is located in the shopping mall. Everyday passing this shop, the seats are always full and people are waiting in line to get a place. On a very different day, as usual for me to walk pass that shop. I saw another shop sharing the same name, newly built just two lots from the previous shop! So I was very curious and like "What the heck are there two same shops just steps away from each other?" Thus, I took the initiative to ask the person in charge of the shop. He explains and tell me, because there are too many customers and that the seats are not enough, so they decided to build another one next door!

Even sometimes, we can see that there will be more than two shops sharing the same name, selling the same product or services in a building. Is this even necessary? By having a whole shop lot, you will need to get extra building services, building fitments and extra refurbishment for it! Is that even necessary to make extra shops when you already have one? Why not just renovate the same shop and make it bigger instead of building a whole new one? Based on this, we are really wasting resources more than we need to. We are really living in this comfortable zone to consume the resources as much as we can and waste as much as we can instead of saving them. Do they even care? Or do you?

Infinity: Deviant Teachings Nightmare

After you have read this story, the mystery remains. And I hate it.

Recently, I had a bad dream about something really scary to me. Since its just a dream (or for some people it's called nightmare), I treat this as a story and had nothing to do with real life or fiction. Nothing to do with real religion either (because none of them were in it!). So, read on.

Everyday is just another ordinary day, except that I had to visit this so-called "museum". My friends invited me to come along since its basically just to learn more about historic ancient times (anything classic you could think of). Yes, I did went there (very excited) until I saw something that really pounded my heart badly!

Once I reached there, it is full of gold statues around the corner, and as tall as a coconut-tree. I asked myself, is this a museum? Probably, because museums have statues (but not this abnormally big and there's too many of them). Then, my eardrum quickly picked up some sort of "chanting" sounds, but I couldn't find the source. Its very faint (okay, at first I thought its a ghost but unfortunately its not). I ignored it and catch along with my friends ahead.

This huge mansion-like museum is full of strangers wearing yellow cloak (as if they wanna pray or something). I felt curious. What are they doing in a museum wearing this kinda dress? When I ride along an escalator with my friend, there is a hidden main hall on the left. Its not fully sealed, but I can see some sort of weird ancient Greek tombs arranged nicely side-by-side throughout the main hall. I smelled something like "corpses and dead rats", as I waited for the escalator to reach the first floor of the museum.

Okay, so there is a tour guide walk us through the first floor. I saw a huge noticeboard which stated "Sponsored by '(names censored)' Campus". As we reached our first room to explore, we were warned about the prohibitions in this place that may seemed unlogical (much like taboo). Some of those I could remember is that we should never talk nor communicate to each other of any kind. I was like, "huh?". Strange, so I entered the room.

To my surprise, this is a room full of ancient tombs (much like the ones I saw on the main hall from the escalator). As I walked slowly between these big creepy-looking tomb, I felt like I'm in a graveyard.

Suddenly, my friend called me by name! We weren't suppose to communicate in that room! So, I turned back but there was nobody there! Shockingly, I saw a hand came out from one of the tombs, as if like begging for help. So, I rushed to that tomb, and pulled the hand (as expected, its my friend in there), but his legs are already covered with long strings of old chanting papers!!!

But then, my eyes went up. I'm exhausted. Its just a dream. Or a strange nightmare that leads to no end. I still can't figure out how it ends, but yet, the above stories is what I could recall in the past few days. I forgot to mention that those strangers with yellow cloak came for prayers, and they are the one who recites the faint chants I heard. Feuh,..!

Discussion : Hate Excuses, Don't You

Urgh!!! Excuses sucks!

Calvin's View : Don't you hate excuses? Well, personally I do. Not to blame those who give excuses including me. I even do make excuses at times. Reasonable excuses. Well, let it be real or fake excuses. It was the most annoying things to hear from. If you are going to be someone who are responsible towards something you hold, when you are unable to perform or be it not able to bear. Screw the excuses, and just say you cannot do it or blame yourself for not managing it well. Excuses for me is where you try to defend yourself from your mistakes. What do you think? Lame excuses.

Nazir's View : Excuses is one of those things we should avoid, and should use. We should avoid making excuses for mistakes we made. Instead, be honest, tell the truth and I'm pretty sure they will understand you (unless if they keep blaming you, that's another case). If you do this, not only you feel better about yourself (or perhaps not feeling guilty anymore) but to others, deep down they know you're an honest person. That's positive.

Okay, so most people hate to hear excuses from others but sometimes excuses should be used in special cases. Here is a video about Random Excuse Generator, watch it if you need it. Gosh, I think this video is a slow (cause I can't find a better one just yet). After all, I think excuses is considered neutral to our lives. End of story.

A New Wave Is Coming...

Catch this wave!!!

There's a new wave coming to the shores of Unity Bond and it took us all by a surprise. What wave could it be?

As some of you may have heard about this on Twitter or Facebook there's a new writer in the house and we would like to welcome him with a short post about him.

His name is Alvin and he's a student currently studying in the United Kingdom although he's from Malaysia. His experience from both worlds created an interest in helping us to share and let us understand the culture of both worlds through our established platform which is also owned by one of his good friends.

He will be writing more about cultures, people, integration, a bit of technology, and entertainment news as he's a bit of a movie reviewer and an avid boardgamer which is a weird hobby for some. Do leave some comments below for what you would like to hear from him as our blog has a motto "Now Uniquely Yours" so don't be shy.

Switch Off The Lights For Earth Hour

I'm excited since its first participation in Malaysia. Many have switched off the lights, from towers to houses and more. But I'm not really sure how it goes for my country though, cause everyone seems not to care (not all people actually). What I'm trying to say is other countries are at full charge at participating in the event.

Just watch the official Earth Hour 2010 video below. I did not see my country in there. But our neighbours; Singapore, Thailand and Jakarta does. I'm so sad. A game... With mice!!!

Recently I have been getting in touch with a thing called roleplaying games. It may feel like a geek thing but what I discover from this little book is a part of the meanings to our lives.

Some may be familiar with the artwork of this game as it is the game from a comic book called 'Mouse Guard' which is about a mouse in an organization who helps the other mice in the Territories in any way possible. What I stumbled upon as I flipped through the first few pages was the motto 'It's Not What You Fight, But What You Fight For'. Such a simple motto but yet poses such great challenges to one because it doesn't matter what the mouse has to face as long as he can safeguard the Territories and bring honour to the organization in all his actions.

As I read more about the game, two interesting concepts of the game struck me hard, which are Beliefs and Goals. A Belief in this game is a statement that you yourself believes in such as 'a person should never give up no matter what the challenge is'. A Belief or a statement like that actually creates a structure/way for our mind to think and also helps us make our decisions and actions in life.

A Goal is basically what your character would like to achieve after a session which really relates to our lives. We all started with a goal or an ambition in our lives but it changes on and on until somehow we lost track of what our actual goal in life is. Some may set and achieve all the goals they have but yet some may even lose all their goals in their lives and that's when depression starts to kick in.

Three simple concepts could create a character in a game; but imagine it in a bigger picture. It creates life. It defines us. It creates a purpose. It creates a meaning to us. Different people have different mottoes, beliefs, and goals, but challenges are always on our path. So do write these three meanings to your own life down and always keep it with you, as how we keep our mottoes in every page: "Now uniquely yours!"

YouTube and VEVO are meant to be together. Sort of.

I'm not talking about VEVO.com which most of us (especially outside the US) can't access the website. Since VEVO has so many YouTube channels of the respective artists and bands, why not take advantage of it?

What I mean by advantage is to download it instead of watching it. I understand many people are so frustrated with VEVO cause its slow and buggy. Since it provides high quality videos including HD, let's download them all and watch it on our computer or iPod!

Let me highlight you with 5 methods I use to download videos off from VEVO on YouTube:

I download this video the moment it releases! Watching it now on my iPod.

Internet Download Manager (IDM)

With IDM, you can instantly download music videos right away, without any hacks or copy-paste URL method! Simply download it and install, and it will associate its "green download button" plugin with Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. I use Firefox for this. After you have installed it, a "Download this video" button will appear on top right corner of the YouTube video you're watching.

To download it, just click the button! Since VEVO has many selection of video quality (like 480px, 720px), I pick 480px since its good enough to watch it on my iPod touch. Click the desired quality you want, hover your cursor to the green button until a word "2 flv..." appears. Click it, and pick the biggest sizes (bigger sizes means better quality) and download it! That's it!

Kick the video, select file type and hit GO! Simple as that.

If you prefer not to download/install any software on your computer, then this is your alternative. KickYouTube is one of the simplest solutions for downloading YouTube videos. So simple that if you can find YouTube videos you like and type the word "kick" and you're done. However, don’t expect this method to work for long. I tried it before. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

So, when you're watching a YouTube video that you would like to download, simply add the word "kick" to the URL immediately in front of the word youtube. For example if you wanted to download the Lady Gaga's Telephone video, you would do the following:

This website solves your dilemma of "This video is not available in your country" from the video you're trying to watch. For example, I can't watch Ke$ha's Blah Blah Blah music video in Malaysia, so I simply copy its URL and visit youtubeproxy.org, and paste it. Then, ensure only SSL and Encode HTML is checked (tick the box), others should be unchecked. Then hit ENTER or click GO!

You will need to enter the verification code and hit SUBMIT. Walaa! You can watch the video and download it using IDM! Well, you can't really download it in high quality cause there's no option for that, but you can only watch it to bypass the country restrictions like in my country.

The power of keepvid.com really amaze me.

This is by far the easiest solution I've come across to download VEVO music videos on YouTube! Simply watch any VEVO music videos you like (eg: Ke$ha's Blah Blah Blah and copy the URL and paste it in keepvid.com! The best thing is, even the blocked videos can be downloaded too! Not forgetting, it also provides links to download the video in several quality (that means if you can't watch Ke$ha's Blah Blah Blah video in high quality, why not download the high quality version on keepvid.com).

Here's another trick. If you do have installed IDM and can't download some videos, keepvid.com is the solution. Repeat the steps above, but then copy and paste the URL into IDM to download it in high speed! I use this step more often.

Rising cost of living troubles everyone on earth (except rich guys). I have this one dilemma of not purchasing unnecessary goods. Like most people, they eat big and shop big (even when they realize their pocket gets thinner). I only buy stuff that I need, and spare some for stuff that I want.

There's a huge difference with what you need and what you want. People these days are extremely in need for money (like when you're given a compound of 30 bucks just for wearing jeans in campus). I was like, what the fuck! Do people really care what we're wearing? Its not like we're naked or something!

Every morning, I must have my breakfast with fried rice and a glass of mineral water. Then I can survive until the night without lunch and dinner. Just a bottle of water is sufficient for me. The same goes for weekends which I don't eat any rice!

The point is, do you ever thought your life as a student becomes worsen over time due to rising cost of living? I mean students live on a tight budget (and we don't necessarily depend on our parents for the money). Its all about spending them wisely. I actually have 4 digits in my account but I'm not the "go getter" kinda person. I usually accumulate it to buy the stuff that I want, cause I already get what I need.

Let me ask you. What is your daily spend a day? Would you dare to take my path even though you're able to make a better path?

Calvin's View : This is a very tough question and doubt that most people will agree on that. To be in the positive context, in the religion view, be it Islamic, Christian, Buddha religion teaches and beholds true and good values. There are not any religion in this world that advocates evil and teaches you of the wrongdoings beside if I would call these religion the "lost religion". Religion provide you with the guides of life and the reason of being on Earth that somehow would shape your characteristic towards the religion practice or beliefs. And as for in a race context, I am very sure that those community who lives in single-racial country or even be it multi-racial country like Malaysia for instance, have shows that different races have different mindset and ways of doing things. These personality and characteristics are mould in the early stage of one's life. If one stays and not exposed to the diversity of races, there leave no chance for one own development towards other races characteristic. It starts from how and willingness you are to be exposed to these environment to get the right attitude right. Even you may not know the attitude of your own race are truly yours individually.

Nazir's View : Well, we can't really judge people's personality just by looking at their religion or races, but one needs to see that person's way of behaviouring and connecting with the people. For example; Japanese knod their head down to show their respect to others but Americans consider it rude to do so. You see, multi-racial countries usually don't have much problem, in fact, in US white people are now friendlier with the black people unlike in the past, even our country Malaysia haven't had any racial problems (until now someone just triggered the alarm).

You can't say Malays did that, then they are wrong. Its their way of life, their culture, their religion. So as others too. Maybe it seems like the religion and races reflect their personality, but its only 50% of them, the remaining percentage falls on that person itself. For example: She may be a Malay Muslim, but what if she's a person you never thought she might be? Thus, we can't really judge their personality that way. Its just too sensitive to talk about this thing.

iPod touch VS iPhone Mini (Seriously?)

One of my classmate have recently bought iPhone Mini (which was never existed but its made in China). It mimics the real iPhone (kinda bit) with the smaller app, smaller size, and comes included with camera.

I got my hands on it. Honestly, its the piece of the crap people should stay away! My friend bought this for 200 bucks! Okay, I understand that its cuter cause its small, but you can't actually download any app there! I'm not sure if it plays video either cause I its so hard to flip between pages! You are actually pressing your finger on the screen with a bit pressure so it will responds (unlike real iPhone which is very sensitive to touch).

Okay, just look at the picture yourself. I even put my iPod touch side to side so you can compare and contrast. What do you think? I think its a piece of **** that you should probably give to your kids!

Declared dead last morning.

Yesterday, me and my housemate was so excited that we'll be giving away the hamster to our friend. So, she requested for the cage to be clean, bath the hamster and whatsoever, and we did just that last night after I have done watching Ghost Adventures LIVE.

So, we take out the hamster and clean the cage, the litter, and all of its belongings. There's only one little problem: none of us dare to bath the potato (scared of its biting machine).

After that, we decided to just spray the potato with its shampoo, and dry it off with a hairdryer. The hamster looks very skinny and insanely ugly like rats! We're shocked to see its real look.

An hour after that, its skin dried and it looks awesome. We play with it, it looks kinda excited (or possibly scared because we never clean it up in ages) cause the cage looks new and clean.

It's one hot night so I decided to check on the potato. Aww... it fits itself perfectly near the spinning toy wheels and sleeps. At that time, I never thought that it is dying.

The next morning, I saw a swarm of ants around its body. I'm scared so I call out my friend to check on it. To our surprise, it officially dead now!

Question is: What would be the cause of its sudden death?

A - shampooing and hair-drying
B - cleaner and newer-looking cage
C - scared or too excited
D - it knows that it will be its "last" night with the owner
E - refuse to be with its new owner

Your final answer? I'm not sure.

I like to do presentations. Do you?

THIS IS JUST A FICTIONAL STORY FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT. IF IT'S REAL, THEN I DESERVE A CREDIT CAUSE I THOUGHT OF THIS IDEA MYSELF!

Last night, I watch a TV sitcom called How I Met Your Mother online. It's hilarious, except that I got annoyed by repetitive ads of reality music show! That kept me wondering; how many reality music show out there on earth? American Idol is obvious. But there's plenty of them!

The next morning, I've gone up to class for my presentation. As I wait for my turn, something poke my mind. Is there any reality show using just presentation? Yes, the powerpoint presentation. I don't think so.

I imagined my friends as the contestant while my lecturer as the judges (2 of them, man & woman). After the powerpoint session ends, the judges expresses their reviews (spicy one). The worse presenter (including the bad slides) gets eliminated from the show. Isn't that sounds great?

Imagine yourself as the contestant presenting a topic about HIV/AIDS. The judges criticize how ugly your slides are, the keypoints seems cluttered, looks like copy and paste or worse, you don't even know what is AIDS when asked! Is it a sexually-transmitted disease? Is it an infection? Is there any cure?

Then, you're screwed. When it comes to elimination round, your buddy gets eliminated from the show! Wow! If your keynotes are otherwise good, then you would proceed to the next round until the final stage, a massive crowd of high-class presenters (including Steve Jobs) will be judging you. Gosh, I can feel the intense pressure right now!

Stop right here. I imagine too much. But what if this type of reality show comes to life? I would love to be the director, and name the show "Powerpoint" or something, then broadcast it to the world!

Stop dreaming. Find your own path. But do you dare to dream?

How To "Really Really Really" Turn Off Autorun

This tip might be common to you but to some people (including me), Autorun can't be turn off even you have turn it off! Viruses are getting advanced these days that they are able to manipulate the registry (that turns off autorun) to be ignored.

The good news is that autorun has a single, and obvious file called "autorun.inf" that show up in your thumbdrive (either visible or hidden). Thanks to this tip I found on the web, all we need to do is to copy these three lines below exactly to a text file, and save it as "autorunoff.reg" (ensure ".reg" extension is spelled properly). Double click on it and it will be imported into your registry. You should get a couple of warnings as you do so but this is normal.

Here's the code to paste onto Notepad:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping\Autorun.inf]
@="@SYS:DoesNotExist"

This will completely ignore the autorun.inf file on any removable disk. Done! This works on all Windows version. But my real question is: What is the difference between Autorun and Autoplay?

Discussion: Should Sex Education Implement in Schools?

Should sex education be taught in schools?

Calvin's View : This is a very popular debate topic and would like to bring up this issue when strong arguments are going on in the education system here. I strongly support the idea of teaching this subject in schools starting from secondary schools. It may be true that this subject is "taboo" before and rarely even being spoken be it at home by parents or even out in the public. This is where the problem lies, HIV/AIDS problem is rising and there is not a better step to curb this would be schools. These children are not exposed and the response to encounter when it comes to sex. Even parents seldom speak to their children about sex at home. Trained and skilled teacher should teach this subject not only through the Science subject of Reproduction but in depth of what sex is all about. It may be true that different students have different level of maturity but yet they have to adapt to the situation.

Nazir's View : I should agree with Calvin here. Sex education should be taught in schools so that these youngsters learn some awareness about sex in the future (what to do, and what should not to do). In our country Malaysians are too shy to talk about sex and surveys proven that over 80% of parents don't talk about sex to their children. When asked, they are too shy to answer and simply change other topics to revert their attention from that "sex-sitive" topic!

Well, I think we should be open minded about this cause sex education was already available in Science subject's syllabus (by that time, its kinda late to understand the counterparts of sex cause either probably they have done it or worse). Sex education makes them more mature and knew the pros and cons unlike these days, kids think sex is funny and exciting without knowing that sex is not another toy they should be playing with. Bottom-line is, we should educate these youngsters about sex in schools or else you know what will happen in the future.

Super Junior is a boy band in Korean also known as 슈퍼주니어 in Korea. They were the largest boy band in the world which consist if 13 members namely Leeteuk, Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-in, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum, and Kyuhyun. You really have to check out their album and music video dances. The best I love the most are "Sorry Sorry" and "It's You". Below are two music video attached. You and Me, Is Just A Step Difference

Meeting new people and expanding the friends of my network is one of the things I like to do. Involving myself in so many activities and doing so much things just pushing me further. But I once have this thought where if I only don't do this much, I would be so free and relaxed. Recently I have a short chit chatting with the Senior Principal Assistant Director of Development and Students Affairs Divison of Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia, Tuan Haji Ibrahim at Dunkin' Donuts before his flight departure to Kuala Lumpur on 24 February 2010. He was attending the International Student Leaders Conference (ISLC 10') in Universiti Teknologi of Malaysia on that day.

A little talk with such highly positioned person, perhaps would be my very first time experience. In fact, I have been sitting with Dato', VIPs, respected speakers and of the very important person in Malaysia. We are having a short conversation. He told me that the reason I am sitting with him having a cup of coffee because I involved myself in such activities. He said that there are no big differences between me and him. We are just a step difference. He was explaining on how to make yourself stand out from the others while both having the same level of education and knowledge. "You have to make yourself to be better than those around you. There are not much difference between the No. 1 and No.2. The second placing is just slightly a step difference. If you didn't even bother to take the first step, you already lose the game. It is the first and the consequences steps that you have taken that places you No. 1."

Truly deep insights and meaningful words, perhaps I have taken my first step in knowing this much and it is time for me to take the next step and keep moving forward. I am not going to be left behind even if I hurt my leg or so. Most people fail and continues failing because they couldn't accept the mistakes they do during their journey. Keep moving forward is my next philosophy of my life to make myself standing above and further up of the distance.

What do you think of Google motto "Don't Be Evil"?

Google knows more about you than the government, and has recently shown that it doesn't give a shit about your privacy. The trend Google has been following seems darker and darker as the company forgets the limits of privacy. This is no longer a company I trust! I promised to fake the personal information on my Google profile (Gmail, YouTube, Blogger), and generally stay as far away from Google as possible. Google still has the best search engine, in my opinion, but I'll switch to Microsoft or Yahoo! in a time being. For a start, I use Bing on my computer, and Yahoo! on my iPod touch.

Google will peek into your home soon.

What's wrong with Google?

Google have recently introduce Google Buzz on Gmail (which I think Google is trying to kill Facebook & Twitter). Millions of Gmail users had their contact information exposed to the world, with no chance of saying "No, thank you." Google CEO Eric Schmidt suggests that no harm was done here. The big blowout that broke me was the so-called "musicblogocide" of 2010, where Google shut down six popular music-related blogs with a warning, deleting years of articles. Each of them said that they never posted any music files without the owner's explicit permission, but Google have done it anyhow. One of them is I Rock Cleveland (http://irockcleveland.blogspot.com/) Thank god our blog Unity Bond is not a music blog. Or else, you wouldn't read this breaking news!

Google is racist. With the black people. Kinda.

Besides that, rumors heard that Google indexes our Facebook's profile information (age, address, interests...). Until then, Facebook have secured their privacy settings and make it even tighter, and they're now using Bing as their search provider (because Microsoft is very committed towards privacy) instead of Google. If the rumors are real, why would Google wanna do that? Easy.

One: To deliver ads based on your interests and location.
Two: God knows whatever evil plans they had in mind (or I should say privacy breach).

For example: If Google finds out that you use their service to store copyrighted files illegally (based on the information found on your Facebook profile), chances are your house might be surrounded by police tomorrow!

Thus, I declared Google officially evil. I'm not sure how many people would agree with me, but the trend of using Google have increased. I'm scared!

The music blog overkill troubles me more than the Google Buzz, mostly because my contact information is already a public record at the bottom of every blog post I write here. Yeah, that's a Gmail account in the end. I did not see those annoying spam in my inbox when my account automatically joined Google Buzz. I find that Google's spam filters work amazingly well. So what if there's another social apps trying to steal my attention alongside Twitter, Facebook, and others?

Anyway, I can understand Google shutting down accounts that actually violate Blogger's posting policies and copyright law, but only if the company is willing to send some warning message first. By all accounts, Google received a few possibly music label complaints, but went straight to the nuclear option without verifying the validity of those notices. Thus, many music blogs have been deleted!

What Google has done? Google wants to monopoly everything from top to toe! I agree with Apple CEO, Steve Jobs' statement about Google's "Don't Be Evil" mantra, its all bullshits. They're now officially evil. Below is the several of their projects made for specific "evil" reasons:

Google Chrome browser: To kill IE & Firefox's users.
Google Buzz: To share your social status with the rest of the world.
Google Chrome OS: To kill Windows, Mac OS X & hard disk company (soon).
Google Energy: To control your household electricity (soon).
Google Broadband: To serve your internet & dominate the web (soon).
Google Nexus One: To kill iPhone & other smartphones.
Google Street View: Possibly to spy on your behavior I guess.

Still wondering why it exists?

Nazir's Opinion: To be honest, I hate censorship, especially in medias. You know how awkward it is to listen to some explicit songs that have censors (ouch!) in between. It sounds awful. Incomplete. Sucks! Wait! Even movies, TV shows and newspapers censors offensive language. Why?!

I think censorship shouldn't be a problem now since most of us, including kids and teenagers knew which words are considered offensive. Without censorship, you can get the point faster, better and you received more direct message, get it? The point is: Censorship avoids you from reality.

Calvin's Opinion: It does make some sense on Nazir's opinion where censorship really sucks and annoying that it destroys the whole movies or songs. But still there is a reason behind it and most likely the censorship are used to protect the name of the producer. Songs with foul language and bad words are surely unpleasant to listen to especially when it was attach to a chorus and sang repeatedly. Some songs are just '"too much" while the others are okay. Censorship still plays an important role in reducing moral degradation of a community. Let kids be more dumb and childish, it is just weird nowadays that kids as young as 7 years old having Adam Lambert's hairstyle and speaking foul language whenever they talk. It is just, hmmm, not normal as a kid.

Really pardon me with the title which was taken from this book by Thomas L. Friedman title "The World Is Hot, Flat and Crowded" This book was published end of 2009 and I bought it not any longer after that but still I couldn't manage to finish it despite my busy life. Wahaha~~

Never mind about that. Reading that book really makes me feel like the President of United States of America. Reading it makes me float above the globe and travels all around the world, watching views from different country side til viewing from West to East perspective. It is a book about how the world function as a whole from each different country and its impact as a whole. Let me break down the three terms:

Flat = Globalization
The world today is so FLAT that it doesn't look round anymore. You can see what other people across the sea are doing and what they're thinking. Globalization makes the world borderless than before and enables anyone to know anything that is happening. Internet and global outreach explains it all.

Hot = Global Warming
Today, the Earth we are living are hotter than ever before. Thanks to globalization, we create so much and consume too much from this planet that leave the footprints that was so heavy, perhaps so heavy that the impact was irreversible causing animal species to extinct, nature environment losing its touch and biodiversity to non-biodiversity. And today, we are suffering the cause of our action. The nature is calling and we are getting the pain.

Crowded = Population
I don't think I need to explain this further. As people meet people, electric connection sparks and WALAA! Another fat, round cute baby! Yup. The Earth are getting too dense with human population and too dense with human habitation. There is just not enough for everyone. That is the reason we have salvation, die of hunger, living like stray and etc. Population is a major problem for every country and it is uncontrollable from growth.

So what happens when Flat + Hot + Crowded equals to? You gonna get this book in stores today! Well, I couldn't really see this book in display anymore on bookstores' shelves. Go find it! MUST READ!

Are You TALKING Green? Or DOING Green?

I have put up a catchy post title to reflect on how true it is today on people's behavior of being GREEN. Oh yeah... Here comes all the words that people spit when you ask them "How Green Are You?" Here is some nice answers:

Friendly enough to go green?

1. Yeah. I am green. I like green.
2. I wear green everyday!
3. I recycle. Erm... Years ago.
4. I participated in many environmental seminars and conferences!
5. I like green! My car is green!
6. What is green?
7. I only be green when there is a campaign going on.
8. How am I going to be green, when the government is not doing anything?!

20 excuses and counting... What does this 20 reasons when they were asked "How green are you?" What I found in these in common is that the awareness of environmental issue is 30% clear whle the other 70% lies mainly in talking BUT NOT doing.

Factual and based on Paperless Homework CEO, Alan Foo told me that many organizations and companies are talking about how green they are, but in reality, they don't put their green words in green action. "They plainly show to the public and wanted the media attention to show and ask people to be GREEN, in fact, deep down, their employees, even themselves don't practise green!".

Being green is not about how many times you went to a green conference. Being green is not about telling everyone what they should do to save the environment. Being green is about what you did. Did you even consider about the environment before doing anything? Even in buying products and taking in things until you throw them away. THINK GREEN and DO GREEN!

“We Are the World” music video has debuted on YouTube, featuring more than 75 artists. Wow!

The singers are Mary J. Blige, Justin Bieber, Akon, Fergie, Josh Groban, Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Usher, The Fray, Enrique Iglesias, P!nk, Adam Levine from Maroon 5, and Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls,....just to name a few. Well, its base on our observation on the video though.

The video also includes a flashback of Michael and Janet Jackson performing the song 25 years ago in a similar fundraiser for Africa - as stated on YouTube.

All downloads from sales of the song on iTunes go to Haiti relief. The We Are the World Foundation website also offers other ways to donate, as well as more information about the song.

At the face: "Kissing bugs" tend to feed on people's faces while they're sleeping. A bite can cause a disease that may lead to a serious heart and stomach illness.

In your gut: The good old tapeworm. They've been used to help people lose weight. Weird. Either way, it's a good idea to cook your meat thoroughly.

In your hair area: These are small, six-legged creatures that infect the pubic hair area and lay eggs. They can also be found in armpit hair and eyebrows. Can be treated with a prescription wash.

In your blood: The blood fluke can live in your veins. It enters the body through the skin of people who come into contact with infested waters.

In your eye: Known as the African eye worm, this "thing" requires a male and female in the host for full infection. This parasite is transmitted by Chrysops fly.

Talking about international or global. How far are you exposed to being "international"? Today we are living in the 20th Century and gosh, stop reading local newspaper or even listen to local radio station! Why not listen to the international when you can forget about the local! I am not advocating of not supporting your local team but of course, children who are born today are surrounded by global and international stuff. They are so exposed and so connected to all countries like a spider web interconnected to each other. Wow. Here are a few things to consider being international:

This photo was snapped intelligently by VLC player of the movie "The Cove". If you have not watched it, please do if you are a concerned environmental human or even a conscious human being.

This movie was banned solely because this movie damaged Japan's image, because the largest dolphin and whale supply came from Taiji, Japan. This is a true documentary I would say. That recorded how cruel and how these dolphins are killed at the rate of nearly 20,000 yearly in Taiji just to serve the purpose of selling dolphins' meat which was a high toxic-mercury meat. Watch the movie, as it explains everything.

Dolphins are intelligent creatures, and scientifically proven that they are smarter than dog and human. Dolphins are the only creatures that lives in the ocean that approach human and even save human lives with their own instinct. They can be trained easily and perform things that none other animal can. It is the ONLY creature that when you provide them a mirror to reflect their own image, these dolphins knew that they were looking at themselves and the best part is, they play with their own image! Even dogs or monkeys don't give a damn when they look into a mirror.

Dolphins are rare, intelligent and friendly creatures. Dolphins are a part of the whale species and yes, they are in the brink of extinction. Factual evidence shows that dolphins, if under high pressure chose to commit suicide themselves by choosing not to breathe. These creatures are not meant to be kept and trained to perform. They can swim up to 25 miles per hour in the sea everyday and being captivated would not make these animals happy even though they put up friendly smile everyday. It's deceptive at times.

Do not advocate dolphins' performances as they don't like them. And support us to stop dolphins and whale killing for the sake of human sane! Unity Bond are a part of it. Are you?

After watching "Paranormal Activity". It really reflects to me and maybe to you as well that we as the homosapiens and animals are not the only thing that lives on Earth. There are things and unexplained paranormal on Earth that even the best science or the most advanced technology couldn't define and give us an accurate or even the answer to "paranormal" effects or activities that happened around us.

We are living with them in peace and some of us even do have the connections. But we couldn't just know how to see them with the best microscopic or binocular devices that were created. We couldn't see them but we knew that they existed.

Mysteries unsolved and paranormal activities unexplained. It was disturbing at first. But that was normal and yes, we are living with them and they are living with us. We apart of this Earth and who knows, God make them exist for a reason, for those out there who believes in God. If you haven't catch the movie yet, do go for it. It may be boring but it conveys a strong message ahead.

I am not going to teach you economics but to widen your perspective of each different type of income. The poor and middle income focuses on earned income and small percentage of them into passive income. Earned income are hard cash that you sweat hours working to get a paycheck monthly from your boss. Passive income are income that comes from investment like bonds, mutual funds and those that you can name. As portfolio income that those income that keep your monthly cashflow going without a halt even earning it everyday. The rich mainly focuses on passive and portfolio income, they earn their living using these two income and not spending a penny on their earned income. When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class
and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,

How Much Trash Accumulate in a Week?

My empty plastic trash on Day 1.

My college class will soon to start, so I stayed home with my housemates and a potato; eat, drink, sleep... till my body rots to death.

Oh, hold on! Did I just said eat and drink? Well, nothing tastes better than a soy-bean milk, snacks and potato bread (gosh, I love potato so much). Seems like I'll be producing lots of trash.
As you can see on the photo above, the plastic bag is still empty on Day 1. After all the hard-core dining frenzy in my room, this is the final snaps on Day 7:

Yup, that's a lot of trash. If its just one week to completely fill in the plastic, how much trash can we produce in a month? And I'm not the only at home, there's another 9 human being in here!

I try to reduce the amount of trash day by day, but someone's gotta have some trash to throw away, right? How do we fix this issue?!

Sea Slugs; Half-Animal, Half-Plant

I stayed up late feeling so bored till I found out the January 12'th article on MSNBC feature an interesting new discoveries; a sea slug!

This green slug, which is half-animal & half-plant, produces its own chlorophyll. Therefore, I believe it can carry out photosynthesis, turning sunlight into energy. According to scientists, the slugs seem to have stolen the genes that enable this skill from algae that they've eaten. With their genes, the slugs can carry out photosynthesis.

From what I read, the researchers used a radioactive tracer to ensure the slugs are actually producing the chlorophyll themselves, rather than stealing the ready-made pigment from algae.

Awesome new discoveries. Hope we can preserve this and all other living things for our future generations to see.

Windows 7 Secrets: God Mode

So, what is God Mode actually? Well, it's a folder packed with shortcuts just about every settings in Windows 7. Everything on the Control Panel & other settings; it's all there. All are placed in one location for easy access. Ain't that cool?

Here's the magic code that make it all work:

Create a new folder anywhere (I set mine up in D:\ disk drive)
Rename it with: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

That's it! You now got your new, handy Control Panel folder. Why somewhat handy? Well, because you can already access everything in there by typing a few letters into the search box on your start menu. Day after day, time after time and era over era. Let us just ponder out on the statement above where "Nothing is Impossible Anymore" Do you agree? Think twice if you say no. But I am certain that people nowadays are learning more than ever and communicating faster than before. During the old ages, especially when the time your father or grandfather was young, things were never possible and today, they were so amazed and astonished to how fast things can go and how human revolutionized so much for just a decade.

We can walk, run, fly, skyrocket and explore outer space. Things that cannot ever be imagined before. This are all too good to be true and thanks to technology. As it advances, it brings so much comfort and easiness that we forget that "Nothing is Impossible Anymore". In the days of enjoying your cup of coffee in Starbucks or enjoying your fastfood meal in Mc'Donald. Please do bear in mind that polar caps are melting which was regarded as impossible before. Ozone layer was complete in depletion which should never and have imagined by human predicament before. And carbon density in air with all the toxic chemicals that we breathe in everyday that aggravating each hour was something that we thought would be impossible.

And if I say, it could be the end of the world anytime from today as the clock ticks. It is almost impossible right? True and too good or too bad to be true. Predictions are running sideways as the best scientist on Earth couldn't scientifically prove what is happening for certain phenomenons. Think again. Everything we do, it comes back to us. Our Greenish Approach

Environment has always been the biggest issue of all time since dinosaur age I guess. People seem not to care. Therefore, I think Unity Bond should do something about it!

I have created my own "Uniting Green" image, well, I didn't draw the green earth anyway. I simply add something to it to make it convincing to everyone. So, does it convince you to go green?

It is a natural phenomena and becoming a norm in our society that we are so busy in our daily life be it searching for own or family happiness or pursuing own desire or keeping pace with the world. Many and millions of people read newspapers. And I think you are one of the reader yourself. But don't ever this question cross your mind when you are reading these media. What you are reading and gaining information is to know "What is happening to this World" Does anybody give a damn to find out "Why does it happen instead?"

The answer to that question for most people is a "No". Clearly, people read newspapers everyday and even at times when they are reading a false or manipulated stories given by media. In the end, it turns out to be chaotic when each starting pointing fingers on one another without knowing the truth behind and just simply rely on news from media everyday. Information and even knowledge, be it factual or fictional are always manipulated and even worse, giving wrong statistics and blindly trusting them will lead to unimagined consequences. What I am trying to tell you is, don't solely depend on one resources to judge everything. Get a piece of evidence, do more homework and you will find out which research is correct and which is false.

Let me just ask you this simple question and I can assure you that 80% of people don't give a damn to this question. "Do you know that 2009 economy downturn was the worst ever recorded in history? And do you know why?" Bet that everyone knows that the economy turns out badly these days but no one even bother to find out why. Strange huh?

Our Achievements for 2009

Lets talk Unity Bond from top to toe. For us, 2009 has its ups and downs. We first launched Unity Bond on June 20'th at 7pm. But who came with idea about the blog? Its Calvin! It all started with an SMS chat with me about how we can make money using our website. In case you didn't know, we did make a website specially dedicated to our own-made radio station. But, yeah, its a big failure for us because a site needs to be updated everyday and we as student don't have a time for that. Now, the sites is haunted.

Like I said, Calvin came out with the idea to start a blog using Blogger (formerly Blogspot). We simply made it at last, but its only meant for fun (I repeat, for fun). We blog just about anything we see and hear, and we even re-write other blog posts on ours, with a simpler language of course. Below is the snapshot of our blog in its greenish approach:

For June, we wrote about the controversial ~~swine flu~~, a rumored Gazelle web browser by Microsoft, and have started our very ~~first music video~~ article. We blog just twice a week that month, but we continue to blog more on the following month. Just then, we focus on a broader topics, including financing, reality and discussion. I love discussion the most where each of us writes what we think of a statement we came out to, like this one. Within August and September, we started to write about tips, make experiments, and even have launched our revolutionary ~~Unity Bond Lite~~, a stripped-down version of our blog as well as our own Twitter account.

Starting October, this is where our blog gone wilder. We have wrote a massively 50 posts just for that month! Also, our blog have started to load slowly, thus we changed our layout to orange-black theme (which primarily focused on speed). As of October 15, we have terminated Unity Bond Lite since Calvin manage to use a better internet service provider. A new feature called "Shufflers" is provided so readers can shuffle our blog posts if they have no idea what to read (pretty much I'm Feeling Lucky that kinda thing) We received tremendous amount of supports and views from our readers just for October alone, and its gone higher once we celebrate Halloween our own way, with stories, videos, movies, pranks and more. Thus, earned us a huge success for that month.

But the success don't stop there. Since November, we have launched "Free on Friday" section, where the readers can download 5 free songs in return for their reading on our blog. Also for that month, we officially have our own Facebook page, to promote our best articles for Facebook fans. Right now, we have secured over 700 fans on Facebook and Twitter. Unfortunately, our blog have gone slower again due to never-ending bugs.

Sounds like a success for those months, right? But for now, its about to change. This month alone, we have a launched our new Unity Bond Mobile (a mobile blog on the go). Calvin also came out with a draft idea to launch a separate blog focuses on Christmas (thus, Unity Bond Xmas existed). But after all these improvements and such, we didn't realize our traffic have gone off instantly, with as little as 10 views a day, but zero comments. We even have a confession about it here. After thorough discussion, we decided to make a drastic change for 2010.

What kind of changes? Well, if you remember the reason we build this blog is for fun; that's gonna change fast. We determined to change our direction and get closer to readers. We wanna make our blog more social that we even looking for guest bloggers who wish to write for us.

Since I'm on holiday, I fixed and tweaked various things on the blog. My aim: Social, Speed and Simplicity. I even launched ~~Unity Bond Status~~ for everyone to track our blog's downtime and statistics. Our tagline have also changed, from "A Random Thoughts Blog" to "Music, tech, tips, spoof and more!" and finally into "Now uniquely yours!". Calvin got a college call, so he barely have enough time to keep up for the blog, but it was his suggestions that make it all happen. We receive good feedback from our readers since then so we determine to get the job done.

Okay, so this post is extremely long and I'm sure you have yawn while reading through it. I'm sorry for everything cause I just feel that this thing needs to be told. Please support us in 2010. We love you and keep coming back for more, and we do accept any feedback from you. Thanks!

They are Socially Active; But Quiet in Real Life

I guess that's best describe me; most of my friends are surprised to see how active I am on social sites (eg: Facebook) but in reality, I'm just a guy who talks when need to. I usually don't start a conversation until they do. I'm trying to be low profile, but I'm extremely shy when I met new people in person.

Are you that type of people? Or you're opposite in some ways? One of my housemate are, and he seems mysterious to me cause we never greet nor talk. Or probably you're one of these; either you are socially active everywhere or the opposite. I don't know, after awhile, I realized that I need to get close to people; to get to know them better.

What do you think? Are you one of them? If so, do you demand for a change? To become a better person which doesn't shows the real you?

What if you're used to your own family members calling you boring? I'm the least talented, probably the least intelligent one in my family and have no girlfriend. I do try, but fail. So, it does get to you, you know? But yeah, I have secure amount of friends and family who backed me up, and I'm glad I do.

The first time people met me, most probably that they think I'm lame, dumb or whatever they could think of. I just look on their faces and I knew what they have in mind. Okay, by writing this does not necessarily mean that I have low self-esteem, but I'm looking for guidance out there who can help me. Anyway, why not spend 2 minutes to watch this video:

Political Influenza. How Long Will It Lasts?

Every country needs a stable political party, with a government which strives to be good and the opposition to correct what's wrong. Unfortunately, not many political parties can cooperate. They instantly throw bombs at each others, thus resulting in poor performance of that country's growth. Name one? Malaysia for instance.

Its been 52 years of independence, and the opposition have not yet be given a chance to rule the land of Malaya. Votes counted, elections go by, but still the "current government" stays.

What's wrong with these people? Don't they see something wrong? Other countries change their government at least once every 20-40 years but not this country. Even Japan just did. Was it because they did something nice to us (mostly before elections be held) thus we voted for them?
If you're one of these voters, you may need to open your eyes wide. Many international medias broadcasts exclusive happenings, be it televisions, newspapers,... you name it.

Ruling government should not be sitting for long time. They will become irrelevant. They'll start showing off. They'll use their veto power. Thus, an H1N1-like influenza have started. Example? A meaningless 1Malaysia propaganda.

Since Tourism Malaysia reads our blog too, we think it would be unnecessary to mention those "names". Leave us a comment below about what you think of this political influenza.

No matter how lucky we are, we always have bad luck chasing us around. Be it you having a worst exam results, had a fight with your teacher, or possibly you just lost a job; life doesn't really seems like they meant to.

To have a good life, its not as easy as searching for guides on the net. So, we would love to have you share you worst moments in your lifetime. Or, if you have some tips, please share with us here for the benefit of others.

As for me, my parents divorced just because of 10 dollar petrol. True story.

Our Biggest Weaknesses

We keep praising our self with cool new features on our blog, controversial topics and exclusivity. But now its time to be honest and set up straight.

We're tired of pretending that everything is okay. No matter how good we are, we still got weakness point where we try to deny it, such as:

- Some post have comments, some are not (mostly doesn't)
- Visitors came worldwide, but there are less than 10 unique readers a day
- Never ending bugs which is annoying
- Over 300+ fans followed us on Facebook, but only a few reads the blog
- Some of the 1000+ followers on Twitter are all "auto-follow"
- There are approximately 400 spams received on our Twitter page
- Most of the blog posts are all "edit & paste", not originally written
- Some of the post are extremely long and look unoriginal
- Posts based on other sources are written without permission
- And all of our weaknesses that we might have missed, please state it here

Yup, we may be good at innovating stuff, but deep inside; we're just like other novice bloggers. We post this cause we want to improve. Please help us!

Mexican Walking Fish at the brink of EXTINCTION !

Awww... It is so cute and it is a real fish! Half salamander half Puff and Stuff, the Mexican walking fish is on the verge of turning belly up and floating down the river of extinction. Also known widely as the Axolotl salamander, these cute little buggers are being seriously threatened by water pollution and habitat destruction. Another big problem is that they are easy prey, basically defenseless, against the non-native species, like the Tilapia and the Asian Carp, that have been introduced to their habitat by the fishing industry.

If the Axolotl survives the attack with a missing limb, they have the unique ability to regenerate most of their body parts. Upon endangering them, even then no steps were taken. Looks like we only can watch them face their extinction senselessly and hopelessly. What a pity. Do we as human even care?

Infinity: Vanished Without a Trace!

I think "another world" really existed! That "world", said to be moving at the same parallel time with us, is in another dimension where we can't see. Humans have mysteriously disappeared and have not yet been found until now. Infinity on Unity Bond compiled you this "secretly kept" news you have not heard on any medias to date. One of the them is about a paralyzed man went missing while sitting on his chair and worse, over 2,000 villagers vanished! In case you missed out our previous Infinity post, click here to read.

Owen Perfit whose paralyzed due to stroke, sits on his chair in his sister's yard in Shepton Maller (England) in June 1763. That is his usual routine in the evening. While sitting alone, that 60-year-old man looked straight to his farmers just in front of the house. At 19:00 (7pm) when the sun sets, Perfit's sister, Susannah, rushed to her yard with her neighbors to bring in her brother's home. She can't be late since the storms approached heavily.

Unfortunately, when she reached there, Susannah and her neighbors were in deep shock cause her brother isn't there! All that's left on his chair are his thick shirts. That's it!

Perfit's kidnapped? Unlogical cause nothing's special about that old man. She didn't even get any threatening letters about his brother. Investigations started until 1933, but they still can't find him. Moreover, the police can't even find any signs of violence either.

Maybe you think these missing story only happen to only one person, but how about the whole village comprises 2,000 people? This is what happens in 1930, where a man named Joe Labelle walked alone to Eskimo Village in Anjikuni Lake, north Canada. Labelle is an animal hunter. He used to visit that village almost everyday. Labelle also knew most of the villagers there.

But not until he reached there one day he had not foind any single person in that village. Its quiet and scary. All the houses seems empty. He wandered around the village and not even a single sight of humans appear. Unfortunately, he found firewoods with a cookerings on top went burned. This incidents have been informed and urgent steps have been implemented but the results is way disappointing and mystery.

First; if the villagers wants to go out from their town at the same time, why there isn't any footsteps found? Second; all the dogs used to pull sleds (tyre-less vehicle used to carry stuff on ice) were found buried under piles of snow. All the animals were found dead too. Worse, the police found out that the food in most of villager's house are not even touched. Even strange when all the graveyards nearby the Eskimo village went empty!

Bottomline is, these "missing" people were probably been sucked out into another dimension, and never got a chance to return to our world. However, we hoped that it won't happen to us in the time-being.

Discussion : Expensive and Cheap. Which One Would You Choose?

There are two type of people who chooses over buying something. One is those who will buy the cheap stuff who also take into considerations of the quality of course while some don't even care if it lasts long. But there is a saying where "You Pay For What You Get" So does that sound or rings true to you? The other type of people are those who only buy the expensive stuff, means they'll go for branded stuff, which in turn of course cost more. The question is are truly expensive stuff guarantees the best of quality and last longer and worth better than the cheap one? What do you think?

Calvin's View : I think I am the guy that falls under the go-for-branded stuff people. I usually shops and look for a more expensive stuff, for example, buying laptops or phone or tech-stuff. I would go for the brand instead of the item. I just feel secured buying a more expensive item than the cheap one. I would doubt the quality and most of all, its life span. I would buy something that last long and fashion sustain for a period of time. If I were to buy a new phone, I would buy the latest and most expensive phone in stores so I would not have to change it from time to time as its fashion fades slowly... Hmmm...

Nazir's View : I'm more to expensive-branded stuff when comes to electronics; especially for the things that are meant to be used for a long time. I once look for cheap stuffs of electronics (MP3 player that is) and turns out that it fails to function properly within a week (luckily I can refund it back and earn back my cash) so I immediately buy the first generation of iPod shuffle! The point is cheap gadgets doesn't really "mate" well, and I usually look for bargains when it comes to clothing, foods and a lot others.

How To Fake A Smile For Cameras. Cheese?

It may be complicated depends how you fake the smile. It may turns out cocky and cold and ugly and different. It's just weird right looking at your own picture seeing how you smile. Here are some tips on how to make the perfect fake smile for camera! So do we have to say Cheese or Mouse?

First Step

Smile into the mirror the way that you usually smile for pictures. Do not try to adjust your face to look more pleasant. Just grin and move on to the next step.

Second Step

Hold the camera out to the side and take a picture. You may need to turn off the flash so that you do not get a reflection of the flash instead of your picture.

Third Step

Examine the picture of yourself that you like. Take note of your entire face. Is your mouth open or closed? Are your eyes squinting or wide open? Are you showing any teeth or are your lips pressed together? Were you actually happy or laughing in the picture or was it just a lucky shot? Are you facing the camera or looking sideways? Is your head straight or tilted to the side?All of these things are important to know in order to be able to replicate the smile on cue.

Fourth Step

Try to replicate the smile in the picture. Take your time. You need to practice until you can do it on a moment's notice.

Fifth Step

Take another picture with your "new" smile. Do not be disappointed if it looks fake to you. Remember, you know that it is. The important thing is that the picture looks good.

Sixth Step

Repeat the process several times until you get multiple pictures that you are pleased with. Once you get used to the feeling of producing your new smile, you will be able to do it on cue. Furthermore, as you become more comfortable with having your picture taken, you will probably find that it is not necessary to fake a smile as often.

Infinity: Where Do They Disappeared?

Were there really exist an "another world" besides ours? That "world", said to be moving at the same parallel time with us, but it is in another dimension where we can't see. Therefore, many humans have mysteriously disappeared and have not yet been found ever since. They are probably still trapped in that mystery world and parallel time without be able to come back to our decent place.

Infinity on Unity Bond compiled you this "secretly kept" news you have not heard on televisions, newspapers nor radios to date. One of the them is about an ex-military soldiers as told back in 1949.

May we remind you that this story is not fictional, and it is not fake. James E. Tetford were riding a bus at night dated December 1'st, from St. Albans (America) to Bennington Quarters. Besides Tetford, there are about 13 people in that bus. Unfortunately, when it reach Bennington, strange thing happens. Tetford is gone!

This incident poses questions about Tetford whose before this were last seen sleeping on his chair. All other passengers in the bus confirmed about it and had not saw any sights of Tetford going out from the bus. Tetford had not yet been found until now.

3 years later, another story about "missing" person popped out. One girl named Paula Welden were seen walking through the sides of Long Trail, in Glastenbury (Vermont, America). The girl kept on walking alone until she reached a big stone and mysteriously disappeared!

The "Disappearing Paula" were seen by two old lady aged 50 just 70 metres from the girl. They told the police what happened. They have tried to find the girl around the place but can't seem to find her.

My Homestay Trip Findings

My recent 2 days/1 night stay at Kampung Pelegong have been so much fun! Located in Negeri Sembilan, it is one of the most popular homestay destination in Malaysia. Packed with all things "kampung" such as traditional games, kampung tours, cultural show, handicraft making and lots more. Breakfast, lunch & dinner is compulsory here.

After my thorough inspection on their visitor board, I discovered that most tourists came from Singapore, apart from Malaysia itself such as Johor, Kuala Lumpur and other states. This should be your wake-up-call for a holiday with your friends and family.

As for me and my friends, we arrived at the destination merely at 10 in the morning (1 hour and a half approximate timing cause we took a bus). But some of us prefer to take Commuter train as the alternative. We were welcomed with traditional homestay ceremony (wow...impressive). 4 of us only Malay boys were so awkward there, while most of Malay girls and Indians were having so much fun practicing traditional dance and making handicrafts.

At night, the fun don't just stops there. Shows like dances and musicals were heard out loud. One of the most memorable event for me is the wedding, where I've been picked to dress out in gold-red clothing and simply sits there on stage for 2 hours! But yeah, its my first time experience and I'll never forget it. The photo below best describe it:

The next day, we play a traditional games like "coconut-bowling" for example, our group scored well too...hahaha! After that, we visited many fruits and vegetable farms (I earned 6 starfruit!). In the evening, we went home with brighter smile and fond memories (minus the bus delays). But yeah, the sunshine is kinda hot.

Finally, I can conclude that the homestay trip was awesome. Its been my first-time-outing with all my friends though its just another extra-curricular activity. But if you plan to stay there for 3 days/2 nights, additional activity may be available too.

Halloween Story: Something Doesn't Want Me To Be Good

It was 1999, I was 19 and had stopped drinking and smoking weed. I had just recently converted to Islam. Before this, I was breaking into cars and houses, just causing trouble and picking fights with anyone I didn't like.

I fell asleep after praying my first ever prayer; I had the Arabic words next to me on paper while I prayed as I had not yet memorized any prayers.

During my sleep I felt a presence on my right side, I slowly opened my eyes and saw a dark silhouette of a very tall faceless man standing by the side of my bed. I closed my eyes again hoping that when I opened them the figure would be gone.

The man was still there.

I panicked and tried to sit up but he had both of his huge hands pressed on my chest. I called out for my mother but the words didn't come out, I then called out for God and the figure disappeared. I'm not sure how I fell asleep again but I did.

In the morning I went to the toilet and heard someone calling my name so I called back. When I went into the main room I realized no one else was in the house.

I sat down and decided to read the Quran, no sooner did I start reading that I heard a creaking noise coming from the wall behind me, I looked to see nothing there.

I kept reading for about an hour and suddenly I felt the air go very cold and I spoke out.

"Whatever you are go away I'm not afraid of you." I thought that it must be some jinn trying their best to stop me reading the Quran.

Then I heard footsteps scurrying across the ceiling right above my head, it sounded as if someone were running on the level above me but our house is only a single storey house.

"O.k now I'm freaking out." I said as I put the Quran down.

I sat there on the sofa waiting for something to happen.

Suddenly I heard and felt a big BANG on the wall just inches from my face, it was almost deafening.

It sounded as if someone kicked or punched the wall with all of their might right next to my face. I felt that this was a warning to me and an attempt from some dark forces to push me away from the truth.

I stood up and said.

"Come and get me." I had enough and was willing to face anything and stand tall for my beliefs.

I continued practicing Islam as best I could and nothing happen for a month.

In this encounter I was also asleep and could hear someone else breathing in my room, so I turned on the lights and there was no one there. As I closed the lights I saw a giant shadow of a man with outstretched arms standing in the center of my double windows.

I then opened the lights again and it was gone.
I closed the lights and the same thing happened, the shadow came back.

That shadow remained there in my windows for the next couple of weeks, I would ask Allah to protect me from evil and a few times I gestured for the figure to come down and fight me.

Well that is my only experience with the supernatural world and it still haunts me today, but although I was afraid I never feared that God was not there for me.

Halloween Specials: Hamsterism

A friend of mine kept a hamster in our house, and we all house mate love playing with it. But under those love and care, this fat orange hamster has something you wouldn't want to know; vandalism. This female "potato" had killed her husband which end up bleeding excessively and died; weeks after their birth to 10 cute hamsters (only 2 had survived unfortunately)

The video below shows me feeding her favorite cookie of mine. Behold the hamsterism!

Note that i was disturbing her sleeping with myself making a screeching sound to distract her. Look at her tiny hand trying to grab the cookie from my finger! Its damn cute, you wouldn't wanna miss any seconds of it! Halloween smells orange, so I got this orange "potato" to make you laugh instead of scaring you. Enjoy!

Internet have given us so much more and so many information that you can never say "I don't know" If you don't know, try google and search! Have you ever seen pirated CDs or DVDs selling all over? And have it ever cross your mind that people who buys those are really wasting their money?
Long ago, pirated CDs, VCDs and DVDs are the best sellers but not today, not anymore. Why do you want to buy CDs when you can download them at home for free? And why would you watch pirated DVDs when you can watch it online for free? If you are good in fixing your computers off bugs or viruses, you are having an extra advantage in saving yourself mess and cost. This is really true, if you still an IT idiot. It is an advice that you should seek for your IT literate friends to teach you. It saves you so much more time and cost! Believe me. Agree?

Discussion : Are You Willing To Sacrifice?

"Everything comes with a price" or "There is no free lunch in this world" These two saying are very true and make perfect sense that there is always something to sacrifice to gain another.

Easy example, it's like money and time! Are you willing to spend more to save time or are you going to save your money to waste more of your time? Which comes first? Its your choice to decide and it's your choice of your life.

Calvin's View : I have always come across many people who wanted so much but by doing just so little. The saying rings so true to me that if you wanted something so badly but never put up efforts or even taken the first step, you are never going to get where you want it to be. When it comes to situation like whether or not to take up a challenge is asking yourself to sacrifice something over to exchange for another. There was a kid that asked his mom this brilliant question "Mom, can I buy happiness?" It was the question that many people couldn't answer. You can never buy happiness but feel it in exchange of doing something good. You feel good when you make someone happy. You exchange your help to gain something better. In summary, to learn more, you have to sacrifice more.

Nazir's View : True, we get nothing if we didn't do something. Its not like when you scream for help then suddenly helicopters arrive. You need to fire up smokes on woods all the time until the help "find" you. But that doesn't mean it will come to you with a blink of an eye; you are human and you need food to survive while waiting. Yup, you sacrifice yourself to wild animals, puny insects and plants to fill up the time. Then, after long years of independence, you might have probably stayed there for the rest of your life. There are 8 main language listed there (but there's more language choice after you convert; such as Malay, Hindi and more). I tried play around with this thing, and guess what; the translation were mostly stupid! Many wrong translation, especially in my language (Malay that is).

What "VALUE" Means in a Business

I am very very and 100% sure that when you go out to the society and ask them what build a business or an enterprise, the first word that comes out is "MONEY". And I even believe you are one of them that thought that MONEY plays the most important role in business. We can always hear people say that "It Takes Money To Make Money" or "It Takes A Lot Of Money To Build A Business". I believe that they are correct to a further extend and fullstop. It depends on the type of business you involve yourself in, for example if you get yourself in a franchise, it may take you a minimum value of $100,000 to open one. But an entrepreneur never focuses on MONEY and "It Really Doesn't Take Money To Make Money in a Business"

What does the word "VALUE" mean to you? Moral ethics and values? In the context of business or entrepreneurship, VALUE is the most important aspect and MONEY always come second. Why do I say so? To build a successful and ongoing business, the most important thing is the VALUE of the business itself. Here is one example to clarify:

Gossip Project is one of a project launched by Joobaholic.com and its content are people call it BULLSHIT. Gossip project focuses on teenager's point of thinking and talks. You can further search for "GOSSIP PROJECT" either on Google or Facebook for details. The point is Gossip Project suffer tremendous loss in its first launch at local area and giving negative profit. (if you see in account perspective, it should be in red and bracket that indicates great loss) and yet Gossip Project takes on the challenge to make second launching at National level (you may be thinking, if this project making negative profit, it is a hell time to STOP and TERMINATE this project) It is unbelievable that the Joobaholic.com would be so DUMB to make second launching at NATIONAL level, it is nuts to think about it.

Yet and again, the second launching make even greater loss! Gossip project's profit goes from negative profit to boldred negativered in red ! Taking the loss at a five figure is really a HELL-SHUTTING DOWN project. And as time passes, Joobaholic.com is at the midst of project shutting process when an international company call them up and fully sponsor the whole project. That is the turning point of Gossip Project. It is the VALUE that build Gossip Project and make it stand out above others. Even though they are making great loss but the VALUE they created finally allowing the company to launch its next project without needing any money at all since many companies are volunteering to sponsor.

Today, Gossip Project are making millions of money without contributing any money towards it anymore. When the plans are ready, sponsorship of millions money would poured out that have made Gossip Project at the international level. So "It Doesn't Take Money to Make Money, It Takes The Value That Create Money For You". By having your VALUE, you are standing out of others and people will know your VALUE are greater than others.

Malaysian Got IDEAs : First AIESEC Entrepreneurs Unconference in UTM

So sorry for not updating on you guys regarding my previous experience in Malaysian Got IDEAs unconference held in Universiti Teknologi of Malaysia (UTM) in Malaysia organized by AIESEC first time of unconfrence. You may be wondering what is "unconference" term means to you. It is not an ordinary conference where you are just listening to speakers but you actually doing and experience practical way of being an entrepreneur there and then. The unconference happened last 10 to 11 of October 2009.

It is really my first time attending unconference held by AIESEC Malaysia in UTM and I can say that it is AWESOME because we are not feeling sleepy although we are tirimg out at the end of the day. The event partnered with JOOB, Joobaholic.com and BURSA Malaysia to make this event successful and great. We have an inspiring and young entrepreneur, Bernard Hor as the CEO of JOOB to teach us to catch our own fish instead of giving us fishes (if you know what I mean)

Bernard Hor basically gave us a task and he did not even teach us anything much and as far as I can remember, he did not even teach us anything at all but one word that truly mean a lot in a business or enterprise. He did not guide us but letting us to think and guide ourselves to come out with our ideas and work our way.

If you are paying money to listen to professional talkers or speakers, some of them also known as Professional Bullshitters who actually are very good speakers that will inspire and motivate you to be an entrepreneur but in the end, you end up SO MOTIVATED that you don't know how to be an entrepreneur yourself. They are super speakers and some of them only "Talk The Talk, BUT DON'T Walk the Talk", all they can tell you are the successful stories of other entrepreneurs but never tell his or her own successful story, so they are empty inside but only can talk out LOUD so people feel WOW!

What I have learned from this programme is one word "VALUE". I am going to further explain it in my next post. Its quite a long and meaningful VALUE that I will post. In a nutshell, throughout this unconference I really have an extend of network and learn the true meaning of VALUE. If you guys really have another opportunity to attend this unconference next year. Make sure you do! It is an unexplained and Only-You-Can-Experience-It-Yourself experience.

How To Stop Yawning

Isn't it just embarrassing to not be able to stop yawning? This is specially true when you are in situations where yawning can be interpreted as you being bored, like when you are in a board meeting (bored meeting?), a job interview, a presentation, a funeral, or any boring occasion you can think of.

You get what I mean.

There are several theories trying to explain why we yawn. But the fact is, we don't really know why we yawn. And reading about the causes of yawning will probably make you yawn. That's a fact. (BIG YAWN).
Before I show my ancient and proven technique on how to stop yawning, let me serve you with some interesting facts about yawning first.

•    Blind people 'catch' a yawn when they hear it. So they'll yawn when they sense that somebody else yawned.
•    60 seconds – the average length of yawns.
•    When reading about yawning, most people tend to yawn. (But I bet you know that already. Can you count how many times you yawned before you finish reading this hub?)
•    More than half of the human population will yawn within 5 minutes after seeing someone else yawn.

Enough trivia. (YAWN . . .)

So how do you stop yawning?

Now I'm going to tell you how to stop yawning. This ancient technique has been passed on from one Kudlit generation to another. It has not been written until now. The secret to stop yawning is . . .
Lick your lips whenever you feel a yawn coming on.
Seriously, it works. Now you'll be needing some practice to be able to this when it matters. You won't automatically lick your lips when you feel like yawning.

Bye Bye Unity Bond Lite

Once a successor for its simplest and most efficient blog layouts ever made, Unity Bond Lite has been terminated as of October 15'th 2009. With a minimalist greenish designs of a regular version, it is firstly build with one aim in mind; speed. Many complaints are targeted to a regular version of Unity Bond for its slow-loading times, bandwidth hogs and for its messy appearances when its not appropriately loaded; thus the lighter edition came to life.

Unity Bond Lite were also created because one of the bloggers at Unity Bond once had a very bad internet connection at his place, thus troubles him to add new post nor viewing the regular blog. Since he's now have a stable connectivity, therefore, we decided to discontinue the lighter edition of Unity Bond once and for all; or for at least when its needed.

So, right now, you can catch up for all the latest random thoughts at Unity Bond you used to visit, that's http://unitybond.blogspot.com anytime. But don't worry about the speed; we have made several improvements to throttle its loading times and efficiency.
